Behind in Blogging: The Vintage Whites Christmas Market & The Mad Hatter Vintage Flea Market

How did I get so far behind? Today I will attempt to catch up on the blog. We have had so much fun lately. We have had the privilege of being vendors at some wonderful shows in the past two months. We are so blessed to be able to do what we love to do, work with amazingly creative people, meet the most incredible people (you!!), and share our love of vintage and vintage inspired decor.

The Vintage Whites Christmas Market

We just returned from a wonderful trip to Kalispell, Montana where we were vendors at the Vintage Whites Christmas Market hosted by the lovely and talented Jana and Vanessa. This was our first time doing this particular show (we have been vendors at their Salt Lake City show) and we LOVED it!! Vanessa and Jana do such a marvelous job putting on these events. They take such good care of their vendors and customers. We truly appreciate all the hard work, time and energy that went into this wonderful event. We cannot wait to come back next year!!

We headed out on our road trip with two of our favorite friends who were also vendors there: the wonderful Penny of the Barn Marche who ran the gift wrapping station along with another vendor friend of ours Michele of Three Craft Chicks and our dear friend Rebecca of the fabulous Peace Within. They are both hilarious to travel with and we loved every minute.

We had a great time. Montana was stunningly beautiful. We got to spend time with fun friends including our dear friend Jennifer of Funky Junk who also traveled to Montana. We met the most amazing people. We had a wonderful show. What more could we ask for ?! Thank you so much for having us!!
 
The Mad Hatter Vintage Flea Market

Somehow I thought I had already written about this beautiful show that is hosted by our dear friends of Junebug Furniture and Design the lovely and talented Gladys and Celia. This show is probably the most charming show we do all year. It is held in the lovely Five Mile Grange in Spokane, WA and is decorated to the hilt. It is always stunningly beautiful...as it was this year!! We love being vendors at this show.

This show is also so fun to do because we can bring our Halloween and Thanksgiving decor in addition to our usual merchandise. It really kicks off the Fall season in a wonderful way. We had an amazing time despite some crazy weather...wind and rain!! Thanks to all who came out and shopped. We enjoyed meeting and visiting with all of you!! Gladys and Celia always make everyone who comes to the Mad Hatter Vintage Flea Market feel special and appreciated...including us!! We appreciate all the hard work, love, and attention to detail that goes into this yearly event. We love being a part of it all.

Funky Junk Antique Show 2013

Funky Junk Antique Show was AMAZING!! This is one of our VERY favorite shows to do and we look forward to it all year. We absolutely loved spending time in gorgeous Sandpoint, Idaho with all of you. This year Funky Junk was even bigger and better than last year. More vendors...food...finds...even more fun!!

We love Jennifer Wood and her awesome husband, Nathan, who put on this wonderful show. They put in so much time and effort to make this show successful and we appreciate all of their hard work. We loved seeing all of you and appreciate your support and kind words. Thank you so very much. We love what we do and it is so fun to see so many people come together to celebrate the joy of junk!!

Look What's Coming Up!!

Funky Junk Antiques Show and Crafts Market will be here in a few short weeks!! Get it on your calendar ASAP and "Make It Your Destination This Labor Day Weekend!!" This year promises to be even BIGGER and BETTER than last year. We can't wait!! We are busy getting all kinds of fun items ready for this awesome show. We will have two packed trailers full of fun items for you!!

This year Funky Junk will be back at the Historic Big Red Barn on the Wood V-X Ranch. Just 7 miles north of Sandpoint, Idaho off Hwy 95. It will be held Saturday August 31st and Sunday Sept. 1st, 2013 (10am to 4pm).



Funky Junk Antiques Show and Craft Market made Romantic Homes Magazine's 2013 List of Best Flea Markets in America!! Woohoo!! So exciting. We love being a part of this wonderful event and hope to see you there!!

Relaxation

This is where we've been and what we've been doing. It has been great! We had a fun family reunion with four out of the five McClellan kids and families in attendance. It was a nice break to kick back and relax. The spirit of the lake always glues our family together for another year. Now though...it's time to get back to work!!

Don't Forget!!

The Strawberry Festival Vintage and Craft Market is THIS SATURDAY at the Moran Prairie Grange!! This year it is even bigger and better!! Last year there were only vendors outside BUT this year there will be vendors inside the Grange and out. It's the perfect way to kick off summer...AND...A superb way to spend a Saturday...rain or shine!!

That is my 16 year old daughter Reilly...aka our "intern"...picking up free *junk* from the side of the road. (I'm in the car laughing.) It's a sickness. You just CAN'T drive by good FREE junk...even if you are a cool teenager and in a cute outfit. Way to go Reilly!! (You'll have to see what she salvaged at Funky Junk Antiques Show and Crafts Market over Labor Day weekend in Sandpoint, Idaho.)

Strawberry Festival Vintage and Craft Market

Are you having Farm Chicks withdrawals? Or...were you not able to go to Farm Chicks this year? Here's a way to get your vintage fix. Come to the Strawberry Festival Vintage and Craft Market at the Moran Prairie Grange (6106 S. Palouse Hwy Spokane, WA) on Saturday June 22nd from 10am to 4pm. What a WHIRLWIND of a weekend!! Farm Chicks was pure joy for Sisters Creed. We had the BEST TIME being vendors at this incredible show. We have been anticipating and planning for this show months and it's hard to believe that is is already...over. It's feeling a little bit like the day after Christmas around here. I hardly know what to do with myself. :)

The lovely Serena Thompson hosts the most incredible antiques and vintage show in the nation. People come from all over the United States (and other countries) Hello Canada!!...to attend this annual event. We met the most amazing people...customers and vendors alike...who share a passion for junking, antiques, and vintage decor. It was perfection. An enormous building filled with thousands of people...over the course of several days... who GET IT!! It... being the junking passion and lifestyle. Thousands of like-minded people gathered together...the creativity was off the charts!! Everywhere I looked I was inspired. Amazing...just amazing. If you haven't found your way to the Farm Chicks show yet...you simply MUST.

A heart-felt thank you to the lovely Serena Thompson for allowing us to be a part of this amazing event!! A sincere thank you and big hug to all of our spectacularly talented vendor friends who have encouraged us to follow our dreams. A HUGE thank you to our amazing customers who show us such love and kindness. We enjoy meeting each and everyone of you and hearing your stories, ideas and plans. You inspire us in so many ways. Thank you to all our friends and loved ones show us so much love and support. A BIG FAT ENORMOUS THANK YOU to our amazing families who cheer us on and allow us to do what we love. Thank you for husbands who rassle kids, haul, lug, shore up, fix, restore, weld, and handle all things technical and computerized. Thank you to kids who have had to inch their way around projects for weeks and sometimes eat cereal for dinner so we could prepare for this show...and still cheered us on. Hugs to siblings who also contribute in many ways with their constant support. Thank you very much and we love you all!!

So now what? Rest and Relaxation?

No...not even close...

The Weekend We've All Been Waiting For Is Nearly Here!!

Are you counting down the days until Farm Chicks? We sure are. We are excited, a bit panicked, and really looking forward to this once-a-year AMAZING SHOW!!. This weekend we did a dry run...taped off our booth space and plotted it all out.

Some items are still in mid-creation!!

Let me just assure you that our booth will be packed to the RAFTERS with stylish and fun finds!! This is only one person's furniture... See the taped off areas? Those are place holders. See squares, within squares, within rectangles? Those are...or will be...furniture stacks. Need furniture? I think we've got you covered...armoires, tables, chairs, hutches, dressers, coffee tables...you name it...I am pretty sure we've got it!! Not to mention bins and bins and bins of fun smalls, decor, linens, pillows, antiques and collectibles. June 1st and 2nd is going to be an exciting weekend!! AND...we have another CRAZY week ahead for us. But we love it...right? RIGHT!!

DON'T FORGET... that there will be load-out/carry-out service for shoppers!! Thanks to Spokane's Air National Guard 242 Booster Organization!! All of the people doing the carry-outs will be active and retired Air Guard members. They will be accepting donations to benefit their charity. This service is worth it's weight in GOLD!! Especially if you have ever had to lug out a big piece of furniture yourself!! So bring your trucks and trailers and fill them up all while supporting the Air National Guard.

Also, have you downloaded the Free Farm Chicks IPhone App? If not...DO IT!! All vendors are listed, including the types of merchandise they sell, a vendor map, and all kinds of other fun things and information. Locate all your favorite vendors... and you can arrive with a map and a plan to maximize your shopping experience!! There are lots of new vendors this year...so much talent. You are going to love the show. Can't wait to see you all there.
