Favorite Things

I love Samsonite Bags!! They are one of my all-time favorite things to find and collect. They are so cute and come in so many fun colors. It all started with a red bag I purchased many years ago at a Farm Chicks sale from Hollie of Funky Junk. Since then I have acquired another smaller red bag, an ice blue bag and the ultimate score a black and white floral bag with...gasp...orange polka dot lining. I use them for everything!! Overnight bags, ballet bags for my girls, temple bag, diaper bag...you  name it...they are perfect.

Well...imagine my joy when I was poking around a dusty and dirty thrift store and found this HOT PINK bag just perched on top of a pile of junky suitcases. It looked like a little jewel sitting there. I had to cross a room full of shoppers to reach it. My heart was pounding as I moved as quickly as I could and snatched it up. These don't come along everyday...maybe one every two years or so. It was definitely a Junk "SCORE"!!

These bags are so cute and so coveted by the women in my family. I couldn't wait to tell my sisters and my mom. Now another generation is feeling the love...when I walked in the house with that hot pink beauty all three of my daughters gasped, squealed and came running!! Even my 18 month old who has been toting it around the house all weekend. I love it!!

My mom and I were able to do some shopping on Saturday. We attended the Vintage Finds and Handmade Treasures Market up in the Nine Mile Area put on by the women of Unexpected Necessities. Everything looked so cute!! We had also stopped in at the craft show in the Valley at Central Valley High School and we were SO DISAPPOINTED. So to then walk into the Vintage Market Sale was like a breath of fresh air. Aaahhh...yes. These are our people. We found some fun things. I found some Vintage Paper Christmas Coasters that I have a million ideas for...and my mom got the cutest Christmas Village house. It was fun to meet Jennifer in person...I would've loved to have talked longer. We also met Fielding of the Two Women Art and Antiques Shows. I love this community of creative women. So fun.

We also were able to do some junking in between shows and attending my daughter Reilly's Choral Festival performance. Reilly did a great job and we found some really fun things for our Christmas Sale in Palouse, WA on December 4th. That is coming up so fast!!

By that evening I was exhausted and my feet were killing me!! I was in a skirt and heels all day because we had attended the funeral of a dear family friend that morning and I was not smart like my mom who brought some flip flops to change into!!

Now the question...to keep or sell that darling bag? I think it's a keeper!!
